Malcolm’s work possesses a distinctive, hard-to-classify quality. Although his paintings can be broadly grouped into three categories, semi-abstract surrealism, figurative pieces, and landscapes, many of them transcend these boundaries. A significant portion of his oeuvre incorporates a symbolist-surrealist sensibility enriched with touches of fantastical realism and expressionism.

As a linguist and philosopher, Malcolm held a profound love for language, and this depth of thinking permeates his art.
